Partnering with San Diego Magazine to produce Healthy Kids has allowed Rady Children’s Hospital to connect not only with our community of philanthropic supporters, but also with a broader audience. Through Healthy Kids, our readers discover groundbreaking programs and services that take place only at Rady Children’s, and learn important pediatric healthcare tips from our experts. San Diego Magazine launched San Diego Health in March 2018 in partnership with Scripps Health, the region’s leading healthcare institution. With release dates four times a year, each issue dives into health and wellness trends, medical innovations, interviews with top physicians, and more.

FULLY INTEGRATED VIDEO CAMPAIGN: STONE’S DELICIOUS IPA

CLIENT: STONE BREWING

Stone Brewing partnered with San Diego Magazine to show the brand’s involvement in the community and reiterate their position as a leader in the local craft beer scene. SDM paired Stone Delicious IPA with local restaurants whose owners had interesting stories and served food that went well with the beer. Ads were created that included both the restaurant owner and the beer with a call to action to view the stories via SDMag.com and social media channels. We developed a strategic campaign that told the stories of these local restaurants, their owners and how the beer paired with the selected dish. To truly bring the partnership to life, we hosted micro events at each restaurant featuring the pairings and inviting SDM's most dedicated audience, our "insiders", to try the perfect pairing. The final step in completing the partnership was to host our nationally recognized podcast, Happy Half Hour, at the event to discuss in further detail everything about the pairings and the restaurants. This gave fresh life to the brand, gave a spotlight to local restaurant owners and created community around the pairings.

San Diego Pets was created for the San Diego Humane Society as a quarterly publication that covers all things pets. The color palette is sunny, cheerful while the fonts add boldness and personality – just like our pets.

CLIENT: SAN DIEGO FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

When the annual art festival moved from La Jolla to Waterfront Park, it was time to give it a new look and feel. We changed the name, redesigned the logo, collateral, event signage and branded products and created a design that reflects the incredible art you see at the event. Attendance and sponsorships have increased every year since.

Festival of the Arts has continued to grow. With the guidance and support of San Diego Magazine, the festival has grown in attendance nearly 40%, rebranded and moved to the beautiful Waterfront Park, and our sponsorship numbers have soared. We could not continue our mission to support San Diegans with disabilities without the leadership of the San Diego Magazine team.

REBRAND

CLIENT: SAN DIEGO MAGAZINE

We recently rebranded ourselves at San Diego Magazine. We freshened up the space. New logo, new layout, new evolution of our storytelling house. It was spearheaded by editor-at-large Gillian Flynn, art director Samantha Lacy, and national designer Dan Bishop.
